Tron Wiki and Disney Wiki being Affiliates[]

I was wondering if you would want Tron Wiki to be Affiliated with Disney Wiki i would like a response ASAP please. Byzantinefire 17:45, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

No thanks. -- WarBlade (talk) 05:00, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
Umm.... why not? Byzantinefire 18:11, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Clu's Fleet of Armada Vessels[]

Can you give me their vehicle names & how many are There? there must be hundreds of them.

--JarodMighty (talk) 10:01, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Some of them may not even have names. -- WarBlade (talk) 11:57, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

no thats not what i meant i meant at the end of tron uprising episode 19 terminal how many ships are there? Clu's Throne ship, Different Command Ship and Recognizers: those names were already taken and those two ships with the armada were unnamed and they weren't appeared in tron legacy they briefly appeared in tron uprising when they entering argon city, look.

--JarodMighty (talk) 14:51, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Count them. -- WarBlade (talk) 19:15, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

i think they're 622 ships. -- JarodMighty (talk) 18:57, March 19, 2013 (UTC)

Trivia for the Light Cycle combatants[]

Greetings; I have a few questions on your reversion of some of my edits.

Having gone through the Light Cycle scene carefully, I find no inconsistency in the helmet numbers or the scoreboard names. While there are inconsistencies in the names on the Disc Wars scoreboard, which rotates and shifts as players derez, the Light Cycle scoreboard does not change throughout the match and no names from the Disc Wars sequence are used there; and the numbers on the competitors' helmets remain constant, allowing names and numbers to be consistently matched. (Young Man On Recognizer and the other Light Cycle competitors do not appear in the Disc Wars sequence so the inconsistencies there should not affect them.) I still left the names in the Trivia section in acknowledgment that they are difficult to read and it's therefore hard to consider them canonical, but it seems to me that they are consistent enough to at least be mentioned there.

Most of my edits today to the Young Man On Recognizer page were for the sake of accuracy, not just to change words around, and I never commit the latter type of change unless a page also needs the former type. The trivia section comparing this program to another Tron character was there already; while fictional characters often parallel each other in one way or another, it seemed to me that those two characters had enough parallels to warrant mention. Could some of these edits be reverted back?

Thanks, --Infiniteviking (talk) 19:50, March 3, 2013 (UTC)

Regarding the scoreboard names, scrutinise Jarvis's datapad in earlier scenes to see the flaw in the light cycle group. I tried doing what you're trying to do two years ago and hit the conclusion that those names are nothing more than names on a list.
Many of your edits, which you describe as "accuracy" I would suggest fall under the heading of "verbosity". There is a point where articles start getting bogged down in details, and it would be better for overall readability if that didn't happen.
The character comparison was fluff. Many wiki editors have drawn comparisons before and after seeing how bound by opinion these things get, it's easier to just erase them when they occur. -- WarBlade (talk) 03:27, March 4, 2013 (UTC)
...Aw man. I guess any consistency in the background info was too much to hope for. Thanks for letting me know.
I'll try to keep my edits more concise in the future. --Infiniteviking (talk) 22:35, March 5, 2013 (UTC)

The main page of this wiki was hacked by a seemingly Muslim user. I undid the edit and marked the files he uploaded for deletion. Protect the Main Page so only registered users can edit it, and ban the user. ToaZahrok (talk) 18:04, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

  1. It's not a hack.
  2. It's not a Muslim, it's a petty vandalism/trolling attempt.
Thank you for reverting the vandalism, but in future please just alert me to the problem. I will assess it and deal with it accordingly. -- WarBlade (talk) 20:47, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Well, ok, He is now banned from all wiki's on the network. ToaZahrok (talk) 16:07, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Name change request[]

Os ot possible to change my user name? Mr. D. (talk) 19:22, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, but you have to take the request to Wikia Central. It's a global change rather than just wiki-specific. -- WarBlade (talk) 20:28, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, Thanks. Mr. D. (talk) 20:33, March 26, 2013 (UTC)

I never made a mess i was just trying to make Disney Wiki better by improving it with better material and why are you so upset about this anyway the KHWiki admins were not as harsh as this so anyway please come to the Disney Wiki chat i think its better we discuss it there. Byzantinefire 22:37, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

Renew Tron Uprising[]

please felow admin Tron Uprising is on the brink of not getting another season, but there is a petition to renew it for another one. if it isn't any bother i would like it if you think about signing itTheBestGamer (talk) 17:42, March 30, 2013 (UTC)

Why are so unflexible about all this i posted a template saying its from Tron Wiki your totally unreasonable come here its more easier talk here and properly settle this once and for all and don't say its not your problem. Byzantinefire 16:23, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

"Unreasonable". The only one being unreasonable here is you. You're the one ignoring Wikia etiquette. You're the one stealing. You're the one who continues to steal after being asked politely to stop. -- WarBlade (talk) 19:47, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
Tron is Disney everything here belongs to Disney  so how are you any different. and you were not polite to me you want Disney Wiki to be limited. and its not stealing i made that template to satisfy you.  Byzantinefire 19:51, April 2, 2013 (UTC)

Disney Wiki[]

Hello, I'm SilverFlight from the DisneyWiki. I do wish for the DisneyWiki to expand, but I also understand you want the keep the pages in the Tron Wiki than also having them in the DisneyWiki. I will not argue against your rules, but is there a way you can allow some information to appear on the DisneyWiki?

SilverFlight (talk) 01:29, April 3, 2013 (UTC)SilverFlight

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with Disney Wiki documenting TRON, its prequels, sequels, and spinoffs. What I object to is seeing hard work from here copied to the extent that it was. Even some templates were copied over, and most of the copying occurred without any attribution of the source, which as I've pointed out flies in the face of Wikia etiquette and published guidelines. As a result, I have asked that the offending content be reverted. -- WarBlade (talk) 01:42, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
Then how about you contribute to Disney Wiki then. Byzantinefire 02:23, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

Hello, WarBlade! I am Uskok, one of the Admins of Pirates of the Caribbean Wiki. I see you have the same problem with Disney Wiki as I have. Could we join our forces to solve that problem?--Uskok (talk) 16:45, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ushok. It's a tricky issue. To some extent we can copy content from other wikis, provided that appropriate attribution is included. Attribution is these cases seems to be in short supply and the level of content copying has been extreme in my opinion. Rest assured I'm working on it and I'll let you know what kind of outcome eventuates. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:10, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Hello again, I see the trouble you and Byzantinefire are in, and I understand that you don't want all the information copied onto the DIsneyWiki without attributing to the Tron Wiki. Byzantinefire made a template to show Creative Licensing (here), but how much information will you allow us to use? Or do you just want us to write down the information ourselves instead of copying?

SilverFlight (talk) 21:41, June 4, 2013 (UTC)SilverFlight

I would prefer to see original content in any case that attribution was not supplied. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:00, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Thank You[]

Thank you for welcoming me. I am not a program but a human being though. You are a wonderful program, Sir. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr.David Ngin Sian Pau (talkcontribs)

Hi, and welcome. What you saw on your talk page was an auto-generated welcome message, but welcome to the Tron Wiki all the same. :) -- WarBlade (talk) 23:10, April 8, 2013 (UTC)

Disney Wiki Affiliates part 2[]

I still think you should consider the affiliates idea i had for this wiki DisneyWiki:Affiliates i would very much like to have the Tron Wiki wordmark on this page. (Byzantinefire 04:08, April 12, 2013 (UTC))

Your suggestions were rejected the moment you started wholesale copying of this wiki and others without attribution. Your persistence with this issue will no longer be tolerated. -- WarBlade (talk) 04:17, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
User's on Disney Wiki can't come up with better material and besides i like your wiki wordmark and all you have to do is put the Disney Wiki wordmark on the main page of Tron Wiki. Byzantinefire 14:06, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
Doesn't this count as attribution Byzantinefire 14:11, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

I would like to become an admin on this wiki. My work with images and expanding articles and galleries could be of assistance to this wiki. Any chance I can work here? Fastcar900 (talk) 17:49, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Actually, it's the images that that are a problem. There are simply too many of them in some subjects, hence the reason why the gallery sub pages were created, and in some cases locked down. What the Tron Wiki really needs is more writers and a much lower rate of image uploads.
As far as sysops are concerned, the Tron Wiki does not need any more at this time. If it did, candidates would be considered on content authoring. Another sysop might be needed if we ever see another TRON sequel. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:37, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Can you please unban Byzantinefire? He was just trying to make this wiki a friend of Disney Wiki. -- Max 17:28, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

That account was used to copy content from multiple wikis without displaying any kind of attribution, and was then used to pester people into supporting the wiki where the transgressions occurred, after the initial attempts had been rejected. The block will expire naturally. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:49, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Main page[]

  • Increased width of right column boxes to the new 330px format.
  • Increased width of twitter feed; modified twitter feed to "fit in" better with main page appearance.

  • Started adjusting background image for new wider content area format, decided to take a shot at creating a new background with a more up to date feel per the end of Tron: Legacy. This background can be seen on any of my user pages.

Affiliating this wiki with Disney Wiki[]

Would you like to have this wiki affiliated with Disney Wiki? --Lightening McQueen (talk) 17:44, June 27, 2013 (UTC)

Due to the rampant breaches of protocol conducted by User:Byzantinefire on the Disney Wiki, I'll say no. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:24, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
You don't understand real protocol all wiki's material should be allowed freely and without inhibition. Byzantinefire (Byzantinefire) 21:34, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
And I've already told you, Byzantinefire, that your harassment is as unwelcome as your posting behaviour. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:41, June 27, 2013 (UTC)
@Byzantinefire: WarBlade is right. There is something known as copyright infringemnt. What you are doing is copying information from TRON Wiki and posting it to Disney Wiki. That is a clear breach of protocol and is not allowed.
ZenTrio3 (talk) 18:30, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Track Title[]

Do you know the name of the track of Tron:Legacy that is played shortly after Rinzler says his famous words, Kevin tells Qourra something(and Rinzler becomes Tron again)? 22:25, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

It's been a while since I've seen it, but you might be after the bombastic battle track titled C.L.U. or the ethereal one after that titled Arrival. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:59, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ma1a/Ma2a Article Merge proposal[]

I want to ask if we can merge Ma1a and Ma2a with the Ma3a page to prevent cluttering? It seems pointless to have extra pages like that. Orangeblinky (talk) 20:41, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

Between the status quo and your proposal, I can't really see a clear advantage either way. Perhaps try starting a blog to find out what other contributors here think. I'm neither for nor against your proposal at this point, but I'd like to get a sense of community opinion before moving on the idea. -- WarBlade (talk) 03:17, August 2, 2013 (UTC)

Admin Proposal[]

Warblade...I proposal to become A new admin member of Tron Wiki...Can i...Pretty please?

Because i been waited for this moment after 6 years of joining tron wiki (As: Chunkyman2000, TheStarlightTrain, Chunkyman20000, Chunkyman4000, Sledgehead2000, Chunkyman40000, Shadaloo2000) and waiting. and now i wanted to be what i want to be.

--JarodMighty (talk) 00:14, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

No Jarod. You have a lot of maturity to build before you're ready for a role like that. Another admin most likely won't be needed until another TRON movie releases anyway. -- WarBlade (talk) 12:47, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

tumblr apologize[]

sorry it wasn't that it's because i found them from the website: tumblr - i need to find the same picture with picture size (example: 1280x1080) and i haven't got time to renamed them because i can't came up with the idea of naming them and i can't put them in page galleries because they locked protected. here's the website link where i found them but find production pics & concept arts of TRON, TRON: Evolution, TRON: Uprising and TRON: Legacy, but not fanart:  and a bonus - TRON: Uprising HD Screencaps but it updates once a day every week: --JarodMighty (talk) 09:06, August 29, 2013 (UTC)

Discovery Revealed[]

the man who appear in the vfx trailer turns out to be an actor played as A Runaway Program was David "Shark" Fralick.

Last week on saturday the 14th in my country England in london i went to forbidden planets and a celebrity was there i saw him with my very own eyes "Bruce Boxleitner Was There" and he knows about the petition because i told him.

Why don't we add the TRON Pop up shop page because it was involved with the promotional coming for tron legacy it only used in culver city.

And there was were another two shows for ElecTRONica: in 2011 was Poreotics and in 2012 was Tron City's Dance Crew Challenge.

What about the appearances for ISO's - in Tron Evolution, betrayal & Legacy they have free will but in Tron Uprising: Dyson said: "they were never written and they serve no purpose" they're similar to the stone age cave man appearances they wear black nearly clothless and see their white skin and their white circuitry.

And when i created the Tron's Security Team page i can't think of the biography because i can't copy and make the same like Recognizer Prisoners. -- JarodMighty (talk) 10:40, September 22, 2013 (UTC)

Additional Voices: REVEALED[]

Warblade, I finally realized about those additional voices its all a piece of the puzzle its all comin' together i know why those names sound so familiar it all make sense!

  • Charlie Bean voice as Sentry when i looked up on Scars, Part 2 ending credits its only one additional voice, so the sentry character appeared in all Episodes.
  • Keone Young voiced as an Unmasked Guardsman - because i've heard the same voice before when i watch the movie "Dude, Where's my Car?".
  • Kim Talon voiced as a female lightcycle racer - during the race she was derezzed by bartik in Blackout. another character as a Female Security Program appeared in the Flashback scene in Scars, Part 1 - during the flashback she said: "You want us to go in unarmed?" before the team set out to stop the riot against the ISOs and then she got repurposed in Scars, Part 2 in flashback as well. and another voiced as a Female Program appeared briefly appeared next to mara and zed during Tesler's Speech in Blackout. she appeared again In Grounded when she is running from The Occupation and then captured and then rescued by the renegade she said: "You're really him! How do I thank you?" after the renegade leaves she said: "Wait. Tell them what? Wait! Tell them what?!" and at the end she was left alone in argon square, wondering. and appeared again in Terminal at the end: when she join and became a member of the first resistance when she said: "Me too".
  • Kevin Michael Richardson could be the voice of Lomox - because his name appeared in one episode when i looked up on Episode 17 Rendezvous credits so it possibly must be him. but he doesn't not talking but he growls or groan thats why so he must be the voice of Kevin Michael Richardson.

Warblade, i'll figure out who voice as Bodhi, Reeve, Copper and the other Characters from TRON: Uprising. i'll do it for you.

--JarodMighty (talk) 17:22, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

New Contributor[]

thank you for the offering, i will take note and heed.

and thanks again for the welcome.

what is there a user can do here, besides browse for information?

and why should i?

what can i do to contribute to the expansion of the site?..

thanks again for the welcome and thanx alot for a asome wiki.

Rewnox (talk) 09:54, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome. :) There is plenty that can be done here, if you feel so inclined. On my user page I have a couple of links (to wanted articles and stub articles) that lead to maintenance lists of article to expand or create. Help:Contents also offers pointers for new contributors. If there is a particular area of the series that you have knowledge about, and you feel is underdeveloped, then you may have some useful additions to share. -- WarBlade (talk) 11:37, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

Why did you undo my edits, I did those edits for a reason. There is no need for Spoiler templates especially for a film that was released only thirty-one years ago and as for the links there are no links to those characters and preformers. I was tidying the pages abit. If there are no links why keep them? If I'm going to be doing edits and addings here I don't want you undoing everything I just to satisfy your own personal likings.

End of Line. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex2424121 (talkcontribs)

You removed a series spoiler tags that are there to indicate to readers, who might be interested in non-plot article content but have yet to see the movie, that they are about to read plot elements. The spoiler template is not intrusive, and can be left alone. If there are red links on a page, then those are clear indications of wanted articles. Other contributors can use those links to help create new articles, and thus help the wiki grow. -- WarBlade (talk) 10:57, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

Oh I'm sorry if I offended you, I just reverted them back the way I edit them. I'll put them back the way they were right now.

How have you been on the TRON Wiki so far?TRONTween2002 (talk) 22:45, January 9, 2014 (UTC)TRONTween2002

Stretched at times, but these days the Tron Wiki is mostly quiet. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:44, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

What has it been? Two years? You're still here editing everyday? Don't you have things to do? TheMattMan095 (talk) 05:33, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

I don't edit the Tron Wiki every day. I check it, in case of vandalism or disputes etc. but most of my editing happens on other wikis because they can benefit from my attention more than this one does at the moment. -- WarBlade (talk) 05:56, February 20, 2014 (UTC)
Well in any case, I was wondering if you could teach me how to create templates for a wiki I started. I'm trying my hardest but it's so goddamn confusing. TheMattMan095 (talk) 08:45, February 21, 2014 (UTC)
Depends on time investment. There is also Community Central to gain help at. What sort of template are you having trouble with? -- WarBlade (talk) 09:05, February 21, 2014 (UTC)
I tried looking in the help sections, but they usually assume that the reader knows how to use wiki-text (I think that's what it is called). I am having trouble with character infoboxes. I don't know how to make a custom one with certain colors and fields. I tried inserting the default one and changing things in source mode, but it wasn't working. TheMattMan095 (talk) 00:43, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
Do you have a link for your attempt? -- WarBlade (talk) 00:46, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
You should be able to see what I tried to do in source mode. TheMattMan095 (talk) 00:55, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
I see. You're not actually trying to make the template, you're just trying to use it by adding content to the page. If you are trying to modify the displayed text of the template fields, then I suggest copying this to a new name like Template:Infobox character and play around with the copied content until you get what you want displayed. Then on the character page use {{Infobox character}} rather than {{Infobox}} (to link to the new version). -- WarBlade (talk) 01:16, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
Man this is so over my head. Do you think you make a few infoboxes for me? TheMattMan095 (talk) 05:27, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
How do you edit the color of the infobox, and make it have certain borders like the ones on this wiki? I also still do not know how to change the default categories such as age to something like "alias" TheMattMan095 (talk) 20:27, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
Border colour is moving away from wiki markup and into the realms of CSS. Currently you have that defined for you by the class statement at the top of the infobox which links to another file containing the CSS for your infoboxes. You'll need to override, or replace, that in order to change the colour. I've put a basic CSS border around this block of text to show what you can do with CSS, including a couple of radial corners to the right. I recommend reading up on what you can do with CSS before worrying about your infobox borders so that you can get some idea of the syntax and what you can do with it.
The infobox fields should be easier. Just edit them to terms you prefer to see, then make a test article to view the result. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:14, February 22, 2014 (UTC)
So they changed the way editing these works right? Because I swear that in 2011/2012 I was able to get a good grasp on editing these by myself. In fact I remember even being able to copy and paste infoboxes and then just edit them to my liking. Every time I try to edit the fields now, it doesn't show up when I publish. I'm thinking of just calling it quits. TheMattMan095 (talk) 21:37, February 22, 2014 (UTC)

Edit reverts[]

I'm not entirely sure what you consider constructive editing, but just because I made more than three edits doesn't make all edits unconstructive. I've reverted you. Please don't change them as they are helpful and constructive. Just because more than three edits were made (a rule I didn't know existed anywhere FYI) doesn't make helpful contributions trashable. That is sure to turn away new editors. User:Tdi7457

Suggesting that Quorra is a user, switching her quote from something exemplifies her personality in her primary appearance to a brief aping of her mentor, changing a suitable description of Sam to call him a "Keeper of Quorra," and spamming 20 edits to make two updates is neither helpful, nor constructive. -- WarBlade (talk) 11:30, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Dear WarBlade,

recently I found a very impressive picture on ,,Tron wikia added by JarodMighty.

I'm very very interested in it and that's why it is my greatest wish to ask him where he got it from.

Because of this picture I created an account on ,,Tron wikia and started already a ,,Talk on its site regarding especially this question that I have to it.

May it be possible to contact this wikia member somehow?  Maybe via E-Mail?  or in another way?...

I will appreciate Your response very much!

Template explaination[]

Warblade, Template:TabA & Template:A you deleted of mine and Template:Ap I was going to add: they were three templatesd for the merging the tabs in one together thats why i was doing it. and i copy them from the simpsons wikia[1] The other templates i've created were:

EpisodePrevNext - (General) - This is for main tabs.

EpisodePrevNextApp - (App) Appearances: you can put, Characters / Locations / Vehicles and Miscellaneous with it.

EpisodePrevNextCre - (Cre) Credits: You can copy the whole words of the credits, but put them in the middle.

EpisodePrevNextTra - (Tra) Transcripts: I can find subtitles for it for the script but put the names.

EpisodePrevNextScr - (Scr) Screencaps: I can upload tron uprising episode images for screencaps.

EpisodePrevNextRef - (Ref) References/Trivia: you can put trivias in the references section.

NOTE: In TRON: Uprising there are no gags

--JarodMighty (talk) 23:24, July 23, 2014 (UTC)

Next time you feel the need to create a pile of templates, that in some cases are horribly broken, please contact me about them first. They may or may not be useful to this wiki, and because you've simply copied them, you may also find that they won't work because of missing script elements in the js files. -- WarBlade (talk) 15:11, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Article Merge Request[]

I would like to have these two articles merged with eachother:

It would make it easier to access both pages, and it would also be a good step towards keeping this wiki tidy. Besides, each article is very small on its own, and by combining the basic information on Basics (no pun intended) with the list of existing basics, it would be even easier to help introduce people to the series. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kitsune Phoenix (talkcontribs)

Category:Basics is not an article. It is a list generated by every article about a Basic program that is correctly categorised as a Basic, so it's not practical to merge it with an article of the same name. -- WarBlade (talk) 05:20, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Gem Repurposed?[]

Gem's main article states the she was presumably

Gem Soldier.PNG

Derezzed with the destruction of The End of Line club. However, when Clu is giving his speech about taking over the human world (Outside of the Grid) to his Army of repurposed programs, it zooms in on an individual soldier with a feminine mouth. (We cannot see her full face due to her visor.) the lipstick on the mouth is very similar to Gem's shiny pearlescent shade and I believe it to be her. Somehow, she wasn't derezzed and instead shipped off to Clu's ship and re-programmed to become one of his brainwashed soldiers. The clip only lasts a few seconds, but after pausing it and examining it closely I'm pretty sure its her. (The image I have to show this is in Gem's gallery.) Yes, but please give others the opportunity to weigh in on the subject. Her face cannot be seen, and therefore you're grasping at a straw, so although it is an intriguing observation (and might well be true) it's still a reach, and therefore contentious. Another thing that you got wrong was that you put first-person editor summary into the article: "The clip only lasts a few seconds, but after pausing it and examining it closely I'm pretty sure its her," is the kind of addition that should never be published in a main space article - that kind of commentary should remain in Talk pages. Speaking of which, thank you for following this up with me, but the appropriate place is on Gem's Talk page where it is widely visible. -- WarBlade (talk) 18:19, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hi, my name is KONNI and I am a red program. Where should I go fetch recruits to the MCP-supporting side? Konnichiku (talk) 22:51, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hi there[]

Hi there, I'm KeybladeSpyMaster, editor at the Kingdom Hearts Wiki (not to be confused with our fansite sister wiki, The Keyhole. I noticed that your wiki, like ours, has recently (or fairly recently) dealt with a plagiarism problem over at the DisneyWiki. If I may, I'd like to direct your attention to a project I've helped organize. I've helped organize to properly attribute and eventually rewrite the plagiarized pages. If you'd like, I can also attempt to organize a similar project for your wiki to remove the plagiarized content over at the DisneyWiki. Do tell me how you feel regarding such a project, and if you do accept, I'll see what I can do. In addition, if there's anything you need from me for like, any Kingdom Hearts-related pages, do tell me, as I'd love to help (things are kinda slow over at the wiki as of late). Thanks! KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 18:43, September 25, 2014 (UTC)

I've fixed your project page link. For links within Wikia you can link like this:
[[w:c:disney:Kingdom Hearts II|Kingdom Hearts II]] get this: Kingdom Hearts II
Regarding the plagiarism, that was primarily the result of one contributor harvesting content from other wikis and pasting it into the Disney Wiki. They've since cracked down on him on the Disney Wiki, but he still causes problems all over Wikia.
Regarding the plagiarism-removal project, good job. It's not something I can contribute to personally, but more power to you for tackling it. :)
Regarding Kingdom Hearts on the Tron Wiki, I've taken the position that the best course of action is to just mention the Kingdom Hearts games and provide links that direct readers to Kingdom Hearts wikis. Kingdom Hearts is something where TRON characters have made cameos, but isn't part of the TRON canon, so therefore is more appropriately handled 'there' than 'here' I believe. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:45, September 25, 2014 (UTC)
First, thanks with the link thing. I don't usually link between Wikia, as you could probably tell...
Anyways, regarding the plagiarism and project. I know the editor that caused it, and indeed, he's part of the cause for the same problems between the DisneyWiki and the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, too. However, we've been able to reach an agreement, through which he's (kinda, sorta) helped with our project. Speaking of which, when I mentioned it, I had meant that if you wanted, I could try and organize a new project on the DisneyWiki just like the one for the Kingdom Hearts articles, but for the Tron articles, so that the copied content can be removed. Articles that still have content from here are currently attributed back to here, but you'd probably prefer the content be removed and rewritten anyways.
As for the Kingdom Hearts articles, it's fine if you don't want any changes or help. However, it's worth noting that the Tron-based worlds of Space Paranoids and The Grid are strangely more significant in the Kingdom Hearts series than simple cameos. They're somewhat tied to the main plot of their respective games (and, to an extent, the plot of the whole series), more so than most of the other Disney-themed worlds. However, it is up to you. Regardless, I'll see if I can clean the few articles up a bit. (There are some red links to Kingdom Hearts articles, such as Photon Debugger. Should those be made?) Of note, though, is that it'd probably be a good idea (if possible, 'cuz I've heard there are some problems sometimes) to add a link to their respective articles on the independent Kingdom Hearts Wiki. The reasoning is that although The Keyhole and our wiki are tied together (we're sister wikis, yay!), the encyclopedic part of the wiki is no longer hosted on Wikia. The Keyhole is less encyclopedic-aimed, and more fan-aimed. However, that's up to you, as well. Thanks! KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 06:56, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I understood your offer to extend your anti-plagiarism efforts to TRON-related content. You do not need my permission to move ahead with that - it's entirely your choice. And yeah, if you find places to offer Kingdom Hearts links to other wikis, that's fine. -- WarBlade (talk) 08:29, September 27, 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that the article for The Grid is copied completely off of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki. If you don't mind, I'll be rewriting it so that it isn't. Thanks for your support! {{SUBST:KeybladeSpyMaster/AutoSig}} 22:24, September 27, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, we were wondering if you could join us on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki's IRC channel sometime this week. There is a matter pertinent to both our wikis which the staff and I would like to discuss with you. It's on #KHWiki-social on freenode (you can use the webchat). Thanks! {{SUBST:KeybladeSpyMaster/AutoSig}} 20:04, October 7, 2014 (UTC)

I'm quite busy at the moment. What's the issue? -- WarBlade (talk) 22:13, October 9, 2014 (UTC)
I can't discuss it publicly at this time, but it's something our wiki has been dealing with and one I know you have, as well. We'd like to discuss the issue further, but the issue makes it hard to discuss publicly without causing more problems. So, what we'd discuss would only be introducing our idea. I'll be busy this weekend, so if you could come either in the next two hours on the IRC or sometime next week, between 9 AM and 3 PM MDT (11 AM and 5 PM EDT), I can explain more. Thanks. {{SUBST:KeybladeSpyMaster/AutoSig}} 02:00, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Please provide times in the international standard, thanks. -- WarBlade (talk) 02:38, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
Sure. I'm pretty sure it's 3 PM and 9 PM UTC {{SUBST:KeybladeSpyMaster/AutoSig}} 03:12, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

hey, what would I have to do to become an admin or Bearucrat or something like that? also are there any achievements for this Wiki?

Minecraftpsyco99 (talk) 16:05, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

The Tron Wiki has no need of more admins at this time. If another movie is made, then maybe, and in that case suitable candidates should have a long and responsible history with editing the Tron Wiki. -- WarBlade (talk) 19:34, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

K, thanks anyways, but would it be ok if I posted articles about my Tron fan fic? ?

13:58, March 6, 2015 (UTC)Minecraftpsyco99 (talk)

Actually no. In the Tron Wiki we try to provide an authoritative source of information for official TRON releases, plus a few rare cases where TV shows etc. have done things like TRON-themed episodes. We don't cover fan fic. -- WarBlade (talk) 18:58, March 6, 2015 (UTC)

Wikia guidelines stipulate unambiguously that neither moderators nor administrators set the rules of a Wikia, and that they are NOT entitled to make unilateral decisions about an article's content. Rather, their role is to carry out the will of the community, as it emerges from consensus amongst editors. Your edits on the Sam Flynn article - illustrated extensively by its history page - are a series of direct violations of this guideline, and qualify as malfeasance. Your conduct, not only against myself but against numerous contributors of this Wikia who attempt to make constructive edits to its pages, is characterized by arbitrary whim and misuse of authority, and constitutes the most troubling instance of WP:OWN I have come across in three years of Wikia editing.

For these reasons, I am becoming much more active on this Wikia, and have added your contribution page to my personal watchlist. If I witness any further excesses on your part, in which you abuse the privileges of a moderator to circumvent Wikia's own guidelines, or make additional attempts to bypass consensus-building by blocking users you disagree with for a disproportionate amount of time on false premises of vandalism, I will forward this issue to Wikia Community Central's bureaucracy and commence proceedings to strip you of your moderation rights, on the charges that you obstruct consensus-building and are undermining the democratic character of this Wikia.

Secondly: The template format you arbitrarily impose on the Sam Flynn article deviates from the format which is being used by all other Tron: Legacy Wikia character templates. There exists no consensus for this irregularity, and the onus is on you to provide a rationale as to why this article's character template ought to uniquely deviate from the format that is used in all other character pages. It is not on the rest of us who seek to enforce standardized Wikia template formats. Standardization originates from a broad-based consensus among the community, and Wikia guidelines state specifically that only a new consensus may overturn such standards. More importantly, they explicitly state that moderators lack the authority to overturn them on their own

You will come to serve this Wikia community rather than impose arbitrary whims unto it, and will abide by its general rules & practices. This post represents a trigger warning: Pending your response over the next 48 hours, you will be indicted on charges of malfeasance before Wikia Community Central bureaucrats, specifically the systematic misuse of moderation privileges. Arshudar Al-Muhdarin (talk) 10:59, June 15, 2015 (UTC)

I have a few observations for you...
A best practice guideline is only a guideline, and not a hard rule. These guidelines may help to serve communities by encouraging cooperation. It's also worth pointing out that your uncommunicative stance on your updates is also uncooperative - if you'd come to me and asked about those infoboxes instead of thrusting your opinion onto this wiki you would have avoided a block. And lastly on guidelines, seeing as they are not rules, they can't be "violated."
As for the template format, it was in existence before I got involved with the Tron Wiki. It was an effective format, so I've continued with it. If you want to remove that, please create a blog and see what others in this community want to do. You failed to do this before, so your content wiping was effectively just vandalism.
And lastly, don't double post like that again please. If you need to talk to me, you can come here and do that. There is no need to duplicate a message I got the first time, and certainly not to go off topic on a mainspace article. -- WarBlade (talk) 11:24, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
No. That is a textbook example of someone being either ignorant of, or misinformed about, Wikia's guidelines. The guideline pertaining to proper conduct for moderators & administrators states - in no uncertain terms - that a moderator is to first engage with editors whose contributions they disagree with, typically on the article's talk page. Not to repeatedly revert good faith contributions under a nonsensical rationale without any attempts at engagement, and certainly not to impose IP blocks lasting several weeks thereafter. Your actions have unambiguously violated two standing Wikia regulations pertaining to best moderator practices.
This fact speaks to two possibilities: 1) You were either ignorant of these guidelines, rendering you unqualified for the responsibilities of a moderator, or 2) you have knowingly cast them aside, and misused the privileges of a moderator for the specific intent of bypassing the consensus-building process in favor of your own position in a dispute. If either of these interpretations proves correct, you are to be demoted from your position immediately. You venture close to that point, for I've taken notice of a lenghty streak of confrontations, similar to this one, that you have had with numerous contributors beyond myself on this Wikia. Together, those incidents offer a transparent picture to bureaucrats seeking to review your track record as a moderator.
Since this issue pertains directly to the content of the Sam Flynn article, the debate is to be conducted primarily - if not exclusively - on its talk page from this point forward. This discussion will be held in full public view of this Wikia community, in order to encourage other editors to partake in the proceedings and to establish a binding consensus on this topic. These measures will ensure that you will be using your tools to carry out the will of the community, as stipulated by your mandate. The organizing of this debate within the Sam Flynn article talk page is your responsibility as a moderator given the circumstances, and as such I will expect for you to have taken initial steps at setting up this public discussion within a period of seven days. Failure on your part to do so will be interpreted as a renewed attempt at obstructing consensus-building on this Wikia, in favor of your personal position in a dispute. Acts of malfeasance will result in immediate indictment for misconduct. Arshudar Al-Muhdarin (talk) 21:15, June 17, 2015 (UTC)
I can't tell exactly, but you seem to be under the impression that you were blocked because I disagreed with you? To clarify, you were blocked for the following reasons:
  • Content wiping
  • Edit warring
... and the above two points were influenced further by your abrasive attitude.
Now you are blocked again. You are trolling. I won't stand for anyone plastering long-winded rants on other people's talk pages aimed purely at getting a rise out of them. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:45, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

Infobox Removal[]

I apologize for bothering you. I was just wondering why you removed the infoboxes that I put up in Bostrumite and Basic. I don't understand. Is there an infobox for "species" available? I looked through the "infobox" page and nothing relating to it was found. And leaving the images without an infobox makes the page look a little unorganized.

What should I do?

- OniellFord (talk) 21:18, June 26, 2015 (UTC)

Well I haven't bothered to implement an "infobox group" simply because there aren't very many groups, but it's something worth reviewing I suppose. As to why I reverted the ones you put in, those infoboxes are just for individual characters. -- WarBlade (talk) 04:53, June 27, 2015 (UTC)
Understood. I've had some experience with infobox templates on another wiki. Shall I try to develop one for "Groups"? - OniellFord (talk)   21:24, June 27, 2015 (UTC)
Do we really need one? At the moment I'm actually reluctant to dive into creating another infobox due to changes that Wikia is making with regards to infobox markup. It may be that the Tron Wiki will convert to the new system, so building another one could just mean throwing time and energy into something very temporary. -- WarBlade (talk) 04:56, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, sorry about that. I didn't know. Is it okay for any other edits, or is it a good idea to wait until the update? - OniellFord (talk) 05:35, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
What other edits did you have in mind? -- WarBlade (talk) 06:52, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
The usual things I've been doing. Replacing old pictures with higher quality ones, and adding new images that are missing in the archives. Maybe even some more categorizing, too. But if there's anything you can think of for me to help with, I'd be happy to do so! - OniellFord (talk) 20:58, June 28, 2015 (UTC)

If you update an image to a higher quality version in a way that leaves an old image with non-descriptive filename (eg. anything starting with tumblr), feel free to tag the superseded image with {{delete|[delete reason]|~~~~~}}. The categories are largely complete on this wiki - I'm actually more inclined to remove them than to create new ones. Aside from that there are the:

List of TRON 2.0 Programs[]

Hello again.

I'm about to go on a cheat run of TRON 2.0 to gather information for the wiki. I wanted to ask if taking screenshots of every generic program (Z-Lots, ICP's, civilians, etc.) with their names showing for a list here is a good idea. Is it okay? Or should I just focus on doing something else in-game?

OniellFord (talk) 21:01, July 14, 2015 (UTC)

Sure, we could use some quality screenies. I actually discourage lists though, and Wikia best practices suggest that they're not the most optimal use of the software. For the most part categories serve as a more appropriate method of generating lists. But back to the images: if you know of pages where you think image quality can be improved, then by all means improve them. Thanks. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:15, July 14, 2015 (UTC)
Yep; while programs like I-No and DJ.exe (with individual names and plot importance) should be on the wiki, NPCs with changing names or NPCs just there to flesh out random encounters and crowd scenes should not. There's NPC duplication and name inconsistency in the game, iirc; Tia_939, for example, turns up in several different circuit colors and two different hairstyles. By all means list them for posterity (I know plenty of fans who would be interested), but not for the wiki. Screenshots of each character design with a list of the circuit colors used for that template might be appropriate, along with a line describing naming conventions, i.e. "Civilians usually have a word or name followed by a number, such as Tia_939 and Cliff_243." Looking forward to the visuals! --Infiniteviking (talk) 21:25, July 14, 2015 (UTC)
Okay. I've taken screenshots of the civilian programs and their colors from multiplayer before. But compared to the singleplayer versions, their colors are a bit... off. Should I use those or go through the game taking pictures only of programs with unique hairs and poses (cowering, running, sitting, leaning against a wall, etc.)? -- OniellFord (talk) 00:25, July 15, 2015 (UTC)
One more thing... am I allowed to make new articles? I've noticed that we don't have one for "The Hub" from TRON 2.0 and I've got a lot of images of the place, plus additional info. Is that okay? -- OniellFord (talk) 19:16, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
There's a "Hub" in TRON: Evolution too though, isn't there? (I haven't played these games) If that's the case, it might be best to go with Hub (TRON 2.0) for a name. -- WarBlade (talk) 20:06, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
Good idea! There is a Hub for Arjia City, but it's a minor location so it won't cause us any trouble. I'll get right on to making the Hub from TRON 2.0 article! -- OniellFord (talk) 22:38, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
Due to information (i.e. Ma3a's dialogue at the beginning of The Net level in TRON 2.0) from the level, I've decided to name the article "The Net". It'll still have the Hub redirection. I hope that's okay. If it isn't, please tell me. Thanks. -- OniellFord (talk) 19:37, July 19, 2015 (UTC)

Actor bio pages[]

I'm fixing up stubs and missing pages and noticed that the bio page for Paul Reubens (voice of Pavel) was deleted. What was the reason, and can I rebuild it like other actor pages without running into the same problem? Also, is there a guide for structuring out-of-universe bio pages? I see a lot of helpful information in the Layout Guide, but none for articles about people. It'd be helpful to have some guidelines as to what cast/crew bio information is relevant to this wiki, especially for people about whom much can be said but not much is pertinent to their connection with the TRON franchise. Thanks! Infiniteviking (talk) 14:14, August 4, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, sure. Build those articles. I think Paul Reubens was deleted because it was one of the numerous placeholder articles that were sprouting up at one point. We have had contributors here who had the idea that uploading huge numbers of images is somehow useful and the most they did with those is to create a page and slip the image into an infobox, then expect others to write content.
I doubt there is a guide for structuring out-of-universe content. As an alternative suggestion just check a number of articles to see what works, what doesn't work, and what the consistent trends are. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:16, August 4, 2015 (UTC)
Sounds good! I'll undelete the page and add a regular amount of content, and take a wiki crawl to see what looks consistent and reasonable. A "Biography/[Part of TRON they worked on]/Trivia" breakdown has been looking good to start with. --Infiniteviking (talk) 22:43, August 4, 2015 (UTC)
"Part of TRON they worked on" is notable, definitely not trivia. ;) -- WarBlade (talk) 22:46, August 4, 2015 (UTC)

Approval to Link Here[]

Hello, WarBlade.

I am an administrator on the Disney Infinity Wiki. We are about to start a project there that calls for us to add a section at the bottom of certain pages that will link to the same subject’s page on other wikis. We are going to start soon, but we want to respect the work of other communities, so we are asking permission first. Would you and your community be okay with us linking to your wiki?

Thank you, —Preceding unsigned comment added by CerealBoxHead46‎ (talkcontribs)

Yes, that's absolutely fine. I had a look at the Disney Infinity wiki, and I can see articles for Sam Flynn and Quorra characters. This gives me some ideas about how the Tron Wiki might cross link to other wikis, because we've already hit issues with character appearances in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance as well, so I'm actually thinking some infobox updates here are in order. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:38, August 6, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, thank you!—Preceding unsigned comment added by CerealBoxHead46 (talkcontribs)

Tron elements in Disney Infinity 1.0[]

After seeing the reason you had put on deleting the page of Disney Infinity that JarodMighty made, I have come here to say that there is some content of Tron in Disney Infinity 1.0, which is:

  • Tron Costume
  • Identity Disc (via a patch on November 5, 2013)
  • Light Runner
  • Recognizer
  • On the Grid, TRON Interface and User Control Power Discs
  • The songs "Derezzed" and "Recognizer"

--Lightening McQueen (talk) 20:00, August 10, 2015 (UTC)

Okay. It is also still out-of-universe content however. Essentially, with Disney holding the rights, the TRON characters / items / vehicles in Disney Infinity are really just copies or adaptations of those things from the TRON universe. That puts them a bit out of the scope of this wiki. It is fair to mention them here, but if we start trying to comprehensively document all those subjects we'll be swamped with non-TRON content in no time - that's assuming anybody bothers to complete an article in the first place. We already have a bit of a problem with the Kingdom Hearts additions, and it would be best not to create another one with Disney Infinity. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:52, August 10, 2015 (UTC)

Another Tron parody[]

there is another Tron parody and its a porno its Called PRON add it or not add it?

--JarodMighty (talk) 12:49, August 28, 2015 (UTC)

Adding that would be a very bad idea, and I would highly suggest against it. We want to keep this wiki SFW at all times, and we also want to limit most of our sources to canonical ones.
Seth Kennon (talk) 15:57, August 28, 2015 (UTC)
While it's a parody, it's not part of any other pop-culture source (like the TRON parodies and references in The Simpsons, etc), so I don't know if it could go on that page anyway. It seems to be an independently-made thing; I vaguely heard about it once around the fandom and got the impression that it was disappointing on both the production-values and explicit-content fronts. I'd have to look at the rules for this wiki again, but find myself hoping it doesn't qualify for inclusion (even if it does, there should be no pictures). ::--Infiniteviking (talk) 08:06, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
I have no strong view either way, but it looks like the opinions are trending toward the negative, so I'm content to leave it unmentioned for the time being. -- WarBlade (talk) 10:45, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Glitch on the editor?[]

I tried to revert a vandalized page and all the text disappeared. When I opened the editor again, the text was already there, but saving it only resulted in a blank page again. Not sure what to do about this. Does the page show as blank to you?

[edit] Publishing from source rather than visual mode seems to have fixed the page. --Infiniteviking (talk) 19:51, October 12, 2015 (UTC)

VisualEditor is a good successor to the problematic classic rich text editor, but it does have its shortcomings. The blank page effect is pretty rare, but as far as I know it's not specifically a VisualEditor issue. It's a caching issue of some kind, and if you see it happen you can always try adding ?action=purge to the address bar after the article URL and hit Enter. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:25, October 12, 2015 (UTC)
Good to know; thanks! I was working from the Classic Editor, as the regular one refuses to open in my browser. --Infiniteviking (talk) 23:42, October 12, 2015 (UTC)

Article Unlocking and Non-Canon[]

Greetings, Mr. WarBlade.

I hate to bother you about some questions that may seem stupid, but I was wondering if it were possible to unlock certain page's galleries for me? If you can, would this be a one-time thing, or can I go back to it every day to upload files or edit them? I'd hate for you to have to unlock them yourself every day at 9:00 PM CST for me.

Also, I've noticed the article for the fan-made Tron 2.0 Killer App Mod on the Wikia. Am I allowed to add content like User Error and the upcoming additions of Killer App to the site? I have a feeling that it might be against the rules, but I'm not sure.

If I am allowed to do so, it'd be much appreciated!

OniellFord (talk) 22:16, October 21, 2015 (UTC)

The simple fact that you've said, " I'd hate for you to have to unlock them yourself every day at 9:00 PM CST for me." is reason enough for me to decline your request. You have already adopted a tactic of adding one picture a day for several days on selected galleries when you could have added several images and avoided unnecessary page history bloat. In future please try to confine successive edits to a given page to a minimum.
As for fan-made content, it's a stretch for the wiki to give them a mention. In cases where such an article does exist, then I think it would be appropriate to document its expansions on that same article. -- WarBlade (talk) 07:10, October 22, 2015 (UTC)
Greetings again.

In response to your message, I believe you might have misunderstood my request. As for the "I'd hate for you to have to unlock them yourself every day at 9:00 PM CST for me.", what I was trying to say is that I did not want to bother you in any way. Asking you to unlock this every day, seems like it would be a bother to you, thus me asking you to unlock it on a semi-permanent basis would be less of a bother to you. You pointed out that I added one picture a day over several days. I wanted to continue editing, though the unnecessary page history bloat was not intended. I appreciate your input on suggesting I confine successive edits to a given page. I have some material that are missing from this Wikia and I thought this was the perfect place to add them. I am learning as I go. TRON is important to me and I would like to be a part of this Wikia, as it is a big part of TRON's cultural impact.

I meant no offense in my initial request nor do I mean to offend in any way. I would like to continue working on this site. I hope this explains my intentions a little better than my first message. I'll do my best to clean up my edits and learn my boundaries. Please reconsider my request to unlocking it.

P.S. Am I allowed to place pictures in an article (plot-wise important), or are they restricted only to a gallery?

Thank you for your time.
OniellFord (talk) 21:22, October 22, 2015 (UTC)

I tend to think best judgement gets best results when it comes to placing images in articles - ideally an occasional picture can help with the content, until more than a few can start to clutter up pages. Therein lies the problem with the Tron Wiki. We have had several contributors here whose only notable contributions have been to add images, with the result that this wiki suffered from image clutter, hence the reason the galleries were created. Most articles here can hold the infobox image just fine, with maybe one or two more if there is enough written content to lay them out effectively. Only the really long articles can support more without looking cluttered. -- WarBlade (talk) 21:51, October 22, 2015 (UTC)
Ah. That makes sense. What do you think should be the min/max of images for galleries? Also, am I still able to make minor corrections on images (i.e. shows the HUD and mouse cursor/reticle), or do they matter? OniellFord (talk) 23:34, October 24, 2015 (UTC)

Securo Article[]

I was about to create an article for "Securo" from the GBA version of TRON 2.0 when I saw that it was deleted a while ago. I decided to come to you first. Why was it deleted? Am I allowed to recreate it, or is it off-limits?

It was deleted because the content consisted of three sentences. If you want to flesh out an actual article, by all means, go for it. :) -- WarBlade (talk) 04:24, November 19, 2015 (UTC)

Article Deletion[]

Ugh! This is embarrassing. I just realized that the article I made, "Prisoner Bin", was an incorrect move. The data I added should've been added to "Deleted Program Storage and Processing" instead. Could you please delete Prisoner Bin? I'll move all the data I posted on it to "Storage and Processing" as that covers the whole area of the game instead of a sub-level.

Thank you and sorry for the trouble. It won't happen again.

HoloLens Light Cycles[]

Hi WarBlade,

I just wanted to pass something your way to see if you could help gather some support for it.

The idea is to create a real-life version of Tron Light Cycles using Microsoft's HoloLens augmented reality headset.  Microsoft has pledged to implement one of the ideas submitted for HoloLens and this is one of them.

If you can, please take a second to vote for this idea and send this out to the group to do the same.  I think everyone would love to see this happen.

Regards, 07:19, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

I'll have to decline to comment. The Tron Wiki exists to document the various offerings of TRON, it's sequels, and spinoffs. It cannot be used to advertise third party ventures. Sorry. -- WarBlade (talk) 09:42, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

The future of Flags[]

Hullo WarBlade!

Last year we created a new feature called Flags, which has been live on your community for a while. As I'm sure some of you have noticed, we've been quiet about development on this front for a while. It's time for an update.

A visit to Shady Pines retirement home

The brief summary is: we're planning to retire Flags in the near future. While the feature had some aspects we really liked, it simply hasn't been as beneficial as we hoped, especially now that Template Types has been launched sitewide.

After careful consideration over whether it makes sense to spend time to build out the feature further or to simplify article editing by removing it, we feel the latter makes the most sense.

However, we do not think this was wasted time - we learned a lot while creating this feature, and it's quite possible we'll use some of the code in other features in the future.

How we'll retire it

In essence, we will run a bot that will switch Flags back into being a normal part of your article wikitext. We want to make this process as smooth as possible - ideally, viewers should see little difference, and editors will go back to editing notices just as they did in the past.

We will provide an update when we have more specific timing for this switchover, and feel free to continue using flags in the meantime.

I want to thank everyone for helping try out this feature - we really appreciated all the feedback, suggestions and bug reports we received while it was available. If you have more thoughts and feedback about the feature, we'd still love to hear it - for example, was there some aspect that you really appreciated? Just let us know either below or via Special:Contact/feedback!

(I would have posted this on forum-type page, but I'm not noticing one on your community.)

Kirkburn (talk) 18:59, February 11, 2016 (UTC)

That's cool. Activity here has diminished without new TRON-related offerings to drive it, so on my wall is fine. To be honest, aside from me, only one other person even noticed the flags, and I mostly only used them when flagging a new gallery. Thanks for the update. :) -- WarBlade (talk) 20:20, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
An update: we're planning on running the retirement process this week, tentatively tomorrow. Kirkburn (talk) 16:53, March 7, 2016 (UTC)

Greetings program, I'm AV-6R7 of Wookieepedia fame (you probably haven't heard of me). I was wondering, could we discuss updating the Manual of Style at some point? I think I might have some suggestions that might help streamline it. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 23:58, April 26, 2016 (UTC)

What were you interested in updating? -- WarBlade (talk) 07:22, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
First, I'd like to ask a question. I see an appearances and references section mentioned in the MoS, but I never see them actually utilized in articles. Is there a reason for this? - AV-6R7Crew Pit 13:26, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
Ah, well I suspect the manual of style was largely copied from elsewhere, hence why there might be some relics from earlier wikis that might not be all that applicable here. Appearances is probably superfluous thanks to the era template, and I imagine that references wound up being unused since back when this wiki was made the TRON universe was little more than one movie and a video game. Things are different now, so references sections would have more value. -- WarBlade (talk) 06:05, April 29, 2016 (UTC)
As such, it may be worthwhile removing some of these "relic" from the old system. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 13:08, April 29, 2016 (UTC)

Movie footer[]

Went ahead and marked it as approved - thanks :) Raylan13 (talk) 16:53, May 27, 2016 (UTC)

It'd be a big undertaking, but I've wondered (particularly in light of the above discussion on our manual of style) whether we should start adding citations to articles, particularly now that there are so many sources--canon, making-of material, interviews, articles, etc. Is that a potential site-wide project for the wiki, and if so, will there be a style manual section on how to cite different types of sources? --Infiniteviking (talk) 17:15, May 27, 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, it would be a big undertaking. As for instructions, I'd expect a paragraph could cover it. -- WarBlade (talk) 19:16, May 27, 2016 (UTC)

Unable to Edit[]

Hi! I've noticed something peculiar and I'm wondering if you know anything about it. After being absent for a while a tried to edit a page, but it wouldn’t load. So, I tried to access the page multiple times from multiple devices and after logging in and out, but each time I got the same result. I decided to just let it go and visit my page to remember "the good old days". However, I noticed numerous typos and decided that it gives away a lot more personal information than I now feel comfortable with, so I tried to clear the whole thing. However, I came across the same problem as with the page where it "loaded" without end. Basically I can’t edit anything that’s not a talk page and I’m wondering if you know what the problem is. A small error? A bigger error in the wiki itself? A secret ban? A conspiracy devised by a secret society? I’m not really alarmed by this, but I’m just a bit annoyed that I suddenly have no control. Gibson42 (talk) 18:06, May 27, 2016 (UTC)

It does that to me too. I've suspected it's some kind of browser problem rather than the wiki itself, and got around it by using the "Classic Editor" instead of just hitting "Edit" (click on the dropdown arrow next to "Edit" and you'll see that option). See if that works for you. Good luck! --Infiniteviking (talk) 18:40, May 27, 2016 (UTC)
I have three questions. Which page are you trying to access (and edit) specifically? Which browser, or browsers, are you using? And which edit mode on Wikia do you have set as your default? -- WarBlade (talk) 19:16, May 27, 2016 (UTC)
Nevermind, Infiniteviking's suggestion seems to be working. I was just going to add some links to the TRON RUN/r page.  Gibson42 (talk) 20:27, May 27, 2016 (UTC)
On a similar note, I've also recently found that I can't add pages. Using both Firefox and Chrome, I've tried using both the tab in the upper right and the box on the front page to create a page for "TRON Lightcycle Power Run," the new roller coaster in Shanghai Disneyland. However all of these attempts have failed, as the page pretends to "infinitely load". I'm assuming that, like before, I'm missing an obvious solution, so I'm wondering if you have any suggestions. --Gibson42 (talk) 18:46, June 3, 2016 (UTC)
I assume you've tested on other wikis? If not, then check that. I usually just type in the address I want in the address bar of the browser to create a new page myself - you could try that although I suspect you'll just hit the same problem (you mentioned page loading being an issue earlier). I also recommend setting your editor default to "Source editor" any time you start running into problems with VisualEditor. The page load issue puzzles me though. That could indicate all sorts of problems: javascript, firewall... all sorts. If you can check those kinds of things you might find the problem, but otherwise contact support for assistance. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:08, June 3, 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. The "Source editor" seems to be working where the VisualEditor restricts me from doing anything (bizarrely this issue seems to be specific to this wiki) and I have been able to successfully begin working on a new page by using the address bar. Progress on planned projects will be slower considering it will take time to work and experiment with the "Source editor" (I can't say I'm very familiar with it, though I can learn from existing pages), but considering there's almost no one around here any more, the demand for such information shouldn't be high. --Gibson42 (talk) 00:15, June 4, 2016 (UTC)

Unlocking Sam Flynn's Gallery[]

I noticed that Sam Flynn’s gallery lacks images of his appearances in TRON: Betrayal and I went to add some, only to find that the gallery is locked. I was wondering if you could possibly unlock the gallery, considering that the threat of people overloading it with pictures has gone down significantly with the lack of activity around here. -- Gibson42 (talk) 17:37, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

Occam's Laser TRON-Inspired Album[]

Greetings User

There has been a recent Tron based concept album called 'The Grid' which i thought would be worth mentioning to you.

It takes heavy influence from the score of the original Tron from 1982.

Here's a few links to it;

I just thought it would make a worthy addition to the wikia, and if not just for your own personal usage.

Tom Stuart 09:50, August 2, 2016 (UTC)

The Tron Wiki exists to document TRON, its sequels and official spinoffs. In rare cases a popular culture reference arises that has us stretching that a bit, but we have to be careful about documenting these sorts of things. We don't want to create a never ending street filled with fan fiction offerings, vacuous ideas, or anything that could be used as advertising. At this point I'm going to have to advise against it. -- WarBlade (talk) 10:44, August 3, 2016 (UTC)

Editing Notes[]

The second note at the end of Timeline (TRON) says "writer's Landry Walker and Eric Jones" instead of "writers Landry Walker and Eric Jones". This seems like it should be easy enough to fix, but when I try to edit the note, there's a cryptic acknowledgment that the note is there rather than the actual text of the note. How does one edit what a note says? -- Gibson42 (talk) 18:36, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

It was set up as a citation reference, so the note itself was actually up the page, but displayed below by the references tag (separated from the actual references by the 'note' group). As a tip, this was easy to find by searching for the word "writer's" in the page text in case you stumble on something similar, although this wiki has never used references extensively. -- WarBlade (talk) 19:36, August 15, 2016 (UTC)

I know it has been a while since i last logged in, but i seem to be having some difficulty.  When i try to upload a new avatar or make other changes to my User page, i get an error message, and am forced to discard and quit.

Is there a hold on my account?

Sigil 000 (talk) 03:05, November 5, 2016 (UTC)

You're certainly not blocked, if that's what you're asking. What does the error message say? -- WarBlade (talk) 02:53, November 6, 2016 (UTC)

The ediotrs are lagging to much. Do something about it. UserSpectreForce (talk) 20:55, November 21, 2016 (UTC)UserSpectreForce 15:54, November 21, 2016 (NYC)

If you are experiencing issues with the editing software you'll need to take it to Community Central, and if you can't get the information you want there you could also contact staff. -- WarBlade (talk) 04:01, November 22, 2016 (UTC)

Directly Redirecting Links[]

Sorry to bother you again. I was wondering how you set up links to automatically redirect them to certain pages. For the sake of convenience, I'm to figure out how to make "ISO War" automatically go to "Purge" (instead of putting it as "ISO War"... which I guess only costs seconds, but still...). --Gibson42 (talk) 07:44, January 6, 2017 (UTC)

Also, I was wondering if you could unlock End of Line Club Gallery so I could clean it up? --Gibson42 (talk) 08:09, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
Additionally, I've noticed a few problems with the Template:Era page (TRON is Tron, the TRON: Betrayal icon is missing, ect.- this stemmed from me looking for a way to set up a TRON: Uprising icon...). However, this page is also locked. I'm really sorry about this growing list of requests. I'm sure I could look up the answer to my initial question (on redirecting links), so it's best to forget about it, but I'll need your assistance on the locked pages. -- Gibson42 (talk) 07:59, January 9, 2017 (UTC)
I've sorted out the first two for you. I'll look at that icon again in a bit. Apologies for the delayed response - I've been busy dealing with some frustrations myself. -- WarBlade (talk) 06:00, January 11, 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. I'm sorry to hear that you're not doing alright. Please, take all the time you need to figure things out- the icon's a rather trivial thing and I'm sure the world will keep turning without it. I just hope that you feel better or sort out whatever it is you need to sort out. -- Gibson42 (talk) 08:16, January 11, 2017 (UTC)

Uprising Era Icon and Fixing Icon Page[]

I wanted to check back in about fixing the Template:Era page and whether or not the Uprising icon I threw together is suitable for use. I would fix these issues myself, but I don't have the clearance to edit the page. This is just meant to be a friendly reminder- if you currently don't have the time to work on this, I understand. -- Gibson42 (talk) 07:45, February 3, 2017 (UTC)

It's top of the to-do list for this wiki. I haven't forgotten - just been been busy elsewhere. -- WarBlade (talk) 18:49, February 4, 2017 (UTC)

TRON: Legacy redirect[]

I understand why you undid my edit but maybe could we delete it after all the links have been replaced? After all, the title is spelled wrong on that redirect. MizukageMoonstone (talk) 22:33, July 8, 2017 (UTC)

The redirect is there to redirect the common search term "Tron: Legacy" to the article "TRON: Legacy". It will not be deleted. -- WarBlade (talk) 22:41, July 8, 2017 (UTC)
Understood, sounds like a good reason to keep it honestly. MizukageMoonstone (talk) 23:10, July 9, 2017 (UTC)

Hey WarBlade[]

Do you know who changed the background on the Wiki? I just wanted to address it because I honestly think the black and blue background was more fitting. MizukageMoonstone (talk) 08:55, October 24, 2017 (UTC)

I don't know what happened there. This wasn't the only wiki - it has happened elsewhere too. -- WarBlade (talk) 12:02, October 24, 2017 (UTC)

"Hacker program" Edit[]

This guy did some vandalism on the Hacker program page, please reprimand him. User:Tomsek113 MizukageMoonstone (talk) 08:23, October 31, 2017 (UTC)

It looks to me more like someone completely unfamiliar with wiki editing is taking their first (faltering) steps into figuring article updates. I'm going to let this one slide. Thanks for reverting the problem. -- WarBlade (talk) 12:03, October 31, 2017 (UTC)

Oh, ok then. And you're welcome. ☺️👍 MizukageMoonstone (talk) 12:06, October 31, 2017 (UTC)

This user seems to be unfamiliar with the way wikis are supposed to work, as he(?) has turned his talk page into a redirect, effectively disabling it. (And interwiki redirects don't work on user or talk pages anyway.) He also deleted my message pointing this out, which is definitely not on.

He has now added a displaytitle tag, another markup which doesn't work on user pages (I know, I tried to use it to get my user page to display the desired lowercase "e"). I think you may have to have a word with him. — evilquoll (talk) 10:19, April 13, 2018 (UTC)

For now, I have disabled the (not working anyway) redirect, to allow the talk page to function properly; but I think you need to remove it altogether (I don't think I have the authority). — evilquoll (talk) 10:27, April 13, 2018 (UTC)

Hey Evilquoll, none of this is causing a problem for articles. Users have pretty much free reign over the content of their user pages, unless of course they're violating the Terms of Use. -- WarBlade (talk) 23:23, April 15, 2018 (UTC)

Deletions of Contributions Without Clarification[]

I am new to the Wikia and have a deep love for TRON. As a child, it was the Disney movie I would watch over and over again. I loved the metaphoric depictions of computer operations and the spiritual battle within the system. When I found the Wikia and found I could contribute, I felt it would be helpful for others, who may not have seen the connections, to explain the metaphors and religions of the TRON systems. I have made three contributions recently. "Data Pushers", "Derez Gate", and "ISO". All three contributions have been deleted by the same User, (unfortunately am unable to find the recent activity of his edits). Am I in the wrong to contribute the ideals of the metaphors and religions into the Wikia, and how can I prevent my contributions from being removed in the future? Thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SpookyAnkh (talkcontribs)

You've added a couple of sections under a sub heading of, "Meanwhile in the Real World..." and used those sections to publish conjecture. To put it another way, you're trying to fill in blanks that in this case don't need filling in. What this wiki is doing is trying to document the TRON franchise. What it doesn't try to do is offer explanations outside of things seen in the various media that the world of TRON appears in. Therefore the removal of those edits is justified. -- WarBlade (talk) 08:30, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

I understand. I apologize if I upset the order of the Wikia. Thank you for the explanation, your time, and appreciate what this Wikia still has to offer.—Preceding unsigned comment added by SpookyAnkh (talkcontribs)
