—On-board audio guide

The PeopleMover Thru The World Of Tron was a transport attraction that operated from 1982 to 1995 in Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It was a re-branded version of the original WEDWay PeopleMover, which had been operating since July 2, 1967. Guests boarded small trains that ran on elevated tracks for a "grand circle tour" above Tomorrowland.

The World of TRONEdit

In 1977, the SuperSpeed Tunnel was added to the PeopleMover. It was located in the upper level of the Carousel Building, which then housed America Sings.

Initially, the SuperSpeed Tunnel included a scene where race cars were projected on the walls of the tunnel around the trains. In 1982, the projections were changed to scenes from the film TRON. Following a menacing announcement by the on-board audio guide, who was an angry British-accented computer voice at this part instead of the gentle female narrator, that they are entering the "Game Grid of TRON", guests were immersed in the film's digitizing scene, which transformed into the Light Cycle Grid.

After this addition, the attraction was advertised as the "PeopleMover Thru the World of TRON".

  • The on-board audio guide incorrectly describes the MCP as the "Master Computer Program" instead of the "Master Control Program".
  • The computer voice which serves as the audio guide for this section is the altered voice of B.J. Ward, who also was the female narrator.
