Sydney Jay Mead, better known as Syd Mead, (born July 18, 1933 in St. Paul, Minnesota, United States-died December 30, 2019), was an industrial designer who designed the Light Cycles, Light Tanks, Sark's Carrier, the MCP and the TRON Typeface, as well as the Super Light Cycle and the Game Grid. He also designed vehicles and objects for famous science-fiction films such as Blade Runner, Aliens, Short Circuit and 2010.
