Sierra is a program in the Arq Grid who appears in TRON: Identity and TRON: Catalyst. He is a member of the Automata faction of the ISOs. Formerly serving as an ambassador,[1] he became the Automata's elected leader and commissioned the building of an Automata Embassy in Vertical Slice.[2]

History[]

TRON: Identity[]

Sierra was a visitor to the Repository,[3] a building belonging to the Core within the Arq Grid. While on a tour with Ada, an explosion went off in one of the many vaults in the building. Being an Automata, a faction of ISOs who were isolated and distant from the Core society, Sierra was seen as an immediate suspect, getting locked in the Library by Grish.

Query, a detective and member of the Disciples of Tron, was called in by Prinz to investigate the explosion. Query interrogated Sierra, who told him what had happened. Query questioned why Ada and Grish hadn't told him or Prinz of Sierra's alibi, who claims that it was because of their loyalty to the Core and the condemnation of the Automata.

Sierra leaves Query with a choice, to let him leave the Library due to his innocence, or to keep him trapped. Query's choice impacts his opinion of him. If the player chooses to let Sierra go, he says he'll remember it and not hold anything against Query. If the player chooses to keep him trapped, Sierra will be enraged.[1]

TRON: Catalyst[]

Regardless of the player's choice in Identity, Sierra eventually escapes the Repository, and is later elected as leader of the Automata. As leader, he commissioned the development of an Automata Embassy, built by the great Automata architect Sum, in the north east end of Vertical Slice, following specifications given by Sierra. The embassy was as an attempt by Sierra for the Automata to seem less "strange" to others, according to his conversation with Spectre during the "System Crash" primary process. A member named Spart serves as ambassador of the Automata Embassy, who was a former apprentice of Sierra's.[2]

System Crash[]

On the top of a tower in the Outlands, after finding Oracle's fourth piece of research, Exo witnesses a conversation between Sierra and Spectre, leader of Reset, who are discussing the possibility of forming an alliance between the Automata and Reset against Core. Sierra notes his past experience with Core, and finds Spart's attempt at common ground with them to be naive.[2]

The Coming Storm[]

Finding another mirage of their conversation, Exo witnesses Spectre declining an alliance between the Automata and Reset, finding that best way to deal Core's tyranny is through patience, leading to them disagreeing on the timing of their actions. Sierra is adamant that there is no better time for an alliance, as he is aware of Core's prior cruelty. Spectre continued to decline his offer, with Sierra remarking that the Automata will need to redouble their efforts to prepare for another glitch storm, and that he is disappointed in her.[2]

Playing Catch Up[]

On her way to Oracle's lair to see Sierra and Spectre, Exo is confronted by an Automata member named Tan, who requests that she turn her Identity Disc over to him. Exo explains that Sierra is in danger and she's in a hurry to meet him. Insisting that Sierra is well-protected, he orders her again to hand him her disc, which she refuses, leading to a skirmish between her and him. Exo derezzes Tan and arrives at Oracle's lair. However, she is too late, as Sierra and Spectre were heading to the dock, despite Sierra being warned by Oracle of the danger of meeting Conn outside.[2]

Upon arriving at the docks, Sierra, along with Spectre, is derezzed by Conn, with Exo witnessing. Failing to talk Conn out of his scheme, Exo is derezzed by him as well, beginning another time loop.[2]

Reunite With Oracle[]

After gathering allies again, Exo reunites with Oracle at her lab. She explains to Exo that she's secured Sierra and Spectre at the furthest tower in the Outlands and that she gave them her research code to protect them from the glitch storm.[2]

Gather Yourself[]

After a defeating him in Oracle's lair, Exo reveals to Oracle that Conn is seeking Sierra and Spectre in hopes of drawing her out. Query speaks to Exo and Oracle, telling them that he's gathered everyone to help.[2]

End Of Line[]

At Communication Tower Omega in the Outlands, Exo arrives to meet with her allies upon defeating Conn, pondering how Conn was able to protect himself from being instantly derezzed, with Horii suggesting he stole Automata technology. Sierra, however, believed Spart willingly gave Conn this technology, expressing that she knew better than to trust Core. Later, he acknowledges that it was Exo who brought their group of programs together.[2]

General information[]

Personality and traits[]

Sierra is shown to be a mostly peaceful program who is often seen meditating. However, he is visibly frustrated throughout his conversations with Query. When accused of theft, he responds with a bitterly sarcastic "confession." His frustration over being imprisoned also makes him prone to passive-aggressive behavior at times,[1] and can also be seen when he ends the meeting with Spectre prematurely in TRON: Catalyst.[2] In TRON: Identity, should the player choose to keep him imprisoned, Sierra becomes rageful.[1] Oracle described Sierra as having "trust issues" after he ignored her warning of Conn's presence at the docks in the Outlands.

Sierra[]

The Automata do not allow your kind within their territory, so your knowledge of The Sprawl is limited. You don't begrudge them their privacy, but the alien nature of their society makes reading Sierra challenging.

Locked up by Grish upon the discovery of a crime, Sierra is understandably frustrated, but is this frustration in the face of a false accusation, or at being caught?[1]
