Jordan Canas is a minor character briefly shown in TRON: Legacy and throughout the Flynn Lives ARG, though she has a more notable role in Chapter 1 of the comic, TRON: Betrayal. she was Sam Flynn's mother and Kevin Flynn's wife.

History[]

She and Kevin apparently met in 1982, the year he returned from the Game Grid. She was an architect for Hydecker Designs, and designed several buildings, including the ENCOM Tower.[1]

Jordan and Kevin married that same year, and the two conceived a child supposedly in early 1983. On April 17th of the same year, the now pregnant Jordana' had a sonogram procedure with Dr. Springer, though her husband, who just returned to the Real World after his adventures in the Grid, missed said appointment. Upon Flynn's arrival to the hospital, she revealed that their child was a boy, to which they both conversed in Flynn missing the appointment during lunch. Flynn often being absent or away from her would become a reoccurring issue due to his maintenance of the Grid and ENCOM.

On the day of their son's birth, approximated to have been in late 1983, Flynn rushed to the hospital Jordan was giving birth in and made it just barely after their son's birth.[2] Their son was named Sam, but just 2 years in 1985, Jordan passed away unexpectedly in September of 1985 in a car accident.[3]

Notes[]

  • Although actress Amy Esterle was cast as Jordan Canas, and then photographs and home video footage of Canas, with young Sam, were both created for TRON: Legacy (see Gallery below), none are shown in the completed film; apparently because it was decided only much later for Jordan to have passed away when Sam was younger. (Although some of the intended home video footage was utilized as Kevin's flashbacks of Sam.)
  • Due to Jordan's Sonogram procedure being mentioned to have taken place during April of 1983, this insinuates that Sam was born, presumably, NLT September 4, 1983. Using Ultrasound to determine gender was very rare in the early 80s, and less accurate until later in the pregnancy.
