The prison was vibrant and had plenty of circuitry which would be able to light up by the touch of Cyrus himself. The prison also had cords resembling wire of a machine, underneath the machine which would destroy all of the Tron system.

Cyrus prison (3)

The structure of Cyrus' prison

Over time, Cyrus utilized the code of the prison and produced a powerful machine with it. When Beck had gotten lost while searching for a short cut to Gallium City, he ended up inside of Cyrus' prison and met Cyrus himself, who had looked through Beck's Identity Disc. Cyrus showed his machine to Beck and when questioned of it, Cyrus exclaimed that the machine would free the Grid while in reality, the machine was set up to destroy the entirety of the grid along with its inhabitants.

Cyrus's prison

Cyrus believed that fate itself brought Beck together with him, once Beck realized Cyrus' motive, he attempted to stop him but was instead hooked up to his machine. Lighting had struck the prison, and even energized the machine, when the machine had emerged from the prison, Beck received visions, one of which was of Tron tending to him. Beck awakened and fought off Cyrus, eventually submerging the machine and causing Cyrus to fall to the bottom of the prison until a bright light had emitted from its depth. Presumably destroying the prison, despite the machine being decimated however, Cyrus survived.
